Ilan Amar, the head of the Yiron rapid response team, has expressed his heartfelt thanks to Daystar, on behalf of all the kibbutz members, for sponsoring the recently delivered firefighting ATV.

"I cannot find enough words to express our feelings of gratitude after receiving your very meaningful and generous gift. It's not so much about the gift itself as it is about the support you have shown from halfway around the world. We use the Ranger every day to patrol the kibbutz and all our fields. We are able to drive between the rows of trees and look for debris from the rockets fired at the kibbutz since October 8, 2023. Last week one of our Thai workers was killed in one of the fields from a live bomb fragment".

Kibbutz Yiron was founded in 1949 by soldiers from the pre-IDF Palmach Brigade. The population before October 7, 2023 was 400 people. The kibbutz is 500 meters (1,500 feet) from the Lebanese border. Before the war there were plans to build new neighborhoods to increase the kibbutz population. Those plans will progress once peace and calm will be fully restored to the northern border.

As a result of Hezbollah bombardments during the past 14 months, eight apartments were severely damaged from direct hits, 40 apartments suffered minimal damage, primarily to windows and doors.
