Kibbutz Manara has an extraordinary history, purchased by the Jewish National Fund in 1940, with Rachel Rabin-Ya'akov, former Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin’s sister, as one of the founding members. A war-time evacuation of children from the Kibbutz was inspiration for part of Leon Uris novel, Exodus. Sadly, this kibbutz remains all too familiar with war-time evacuations. Over 80,000 families have been displaced from the region for over a year, and Kibbutz  Manara, 50 meters from the Lebanese border,  has seen 74% of its homes severely damaged or destroyed.

In response to this overwhelming need Daystar, provided the resources needed for rebuilding homes and providing safe, sustainable housing for displaced Israeli families near the northern border, strengthening community resilience against ongoing threats. The Manara project is a long-term commitment being undertaken in phases, aimed at providing affordable housing in northern Israel.

This project offers immediate, life-saving housing solutions—safe modular homes with bomb shelters—for families displaced by  Hezbollah. They will eventually become affordable housing for young families, students, and others committed to revitalizing Israel’s northern frontier.

To date, 25 homes have been completed in Phase One, with families scheduled to begin moving in starting in January.

Thanks to the faithful generosity of Daystar Partners the residents of Kibbutz Manara can begin their return home! Together, let’s pray that as these Israeli families reunite with their home, their hearts will find a home in the Messiah.
